Meet Peter Young

Peter was born and raised in Saratoga Springs, New York. He grew up in a musical family and his exposure to a variety of musical styles helped develop his drumming skills at the age of 7. Throughout his school days he performed in many diverse settings, including drum & bugle corps, summer stock theater shows, and live local performances.

By the mid 80s Peter began working professionally. Gigs with country, pop, jazz and rock groups. Local recording studios took interest and it was then that Peter realized his passion for recording. Influenced by many of the top studio drummers in NYC and LA, he headed to New York City to study privately at the legendary drum school, the ”Drummers Collective,”. His teachers include jazz-funk drummer Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock) New Orleans great Ricky Sebastian. Along with additional private studies with NYC drummers Sue Evans and David Calarco.

In 1991 Peter relocated to Nashville,TN. His first tour was with Atlantic Recording artist Robin Lee (The country version of “Black Velvet” reaching #2 on Billboard charts), opening shows for nearly every major country artist of the time. After this successful introduction, Peter also performed with various major label artists like Ricky Van Shelton, Bob Woodruff, Chely Wright to name a few. Peter then joined country music legend Loretta Lynn’s tour in 1997 and toured with her for 5 years, always returning to Nashville between tour dates to hustle up showcase gigs and recording sessions.

In 2001, Peter decided to focus on session work and producing. He launched his internet drum tracking business “ Nashville Drum Tracks” in 2005. As his local clientele grew, the response to online recording skyrocketed, prompting Peter to quickly add full production recordings to his services. It was during this time that Ultra Audio Productions was born.

Now, over three decades after arriving in Nashville, the building blocks of Peter’s success have become a new home – the Nashville home for songwriters, artists and producers around the world. With Peter’s easy manner and diversity of experiences, Peter’s Nashville Drum Tracks offers a uniquely personal and cost-effective opportunity to collaborate with him on your songs .
